BEGINNER’S GOLF IN A GOLFERS PARADISE!

Popularly known as Costa del Golf – Andalucia’s coastline is the perfect venue for all year round golfing. The area boasts some of the finest courses in Spain and the wonderful climate attracts players from all over the world. We at Andalucia & Beyond offer a Beginners Golf Week - with or without accommodation.

If accommodation is required this can be arranged and there are several options. Bed, breakfast and buffet dinner accommodation in Mijas Village at the 4* Hotel Mijas Bed and breakfast at the Hostal Caleta also in the village. Quality self-catering Villa accommodation in the Mijas area. Your choice of accommodation can be discussed at the time of booking the course.

The course lasts from Monday to Thursday and on Friday you get the opportunity to play on a course for the first time! Included in your holiday is half a round of golf at a first class local course with the Pro.

Our Pro can manage a maximum of 6 people at a time but we will be happy to organize a second Pro if a larger group wish to participate. We welcome both groups and singles so if you really want to learn the game, what are you waiting for? You won’t be in better company or better surroundings and in your free time there is plenty on offer down here on the Costa del Sol.

GOLF TUITION OUTLINE

Day 1 – 4, 2 hours a day of group tuition (max 6) with our
resident PGA professional Mike Roberts at Miraflores Golf
Academy on Mijas Costa

• Golf club loan and balls
• Day 5 Nine hole round at local course (usually La Noria or La Siesta) with the Pro
• Each participant will receive a certificate to verify they have completed the course and reached a level of competence
• A small ‘prize’ to be awarded at the end of day 5 to ‘Best Improved’ etc.

YOUR GOLF HOLIDAY INCLUDES

8 hours tuition over 4 days at Miraflores Golf Academy. All expenses on 5th day for nine holes play at La Noria/other 9 hole course. (Green fee, club hire, trolley hire). ‘Golfers Starter Pack’ – Golf Glove, Tees, Ball Marker, Pitch repairer, Golf Balls. Services and assistance of representatives of Andalucia & Beyond S.L

YOUR PROFESSIONAL

Mike Roberts, started playing golf at the age of 5 and after leaving university he turned pro and took up his first position as an assistant at Stover GC in Devon. Since then Mike has worked at Finchley GC, Knebworth GC and, most recently, spent 10 years working as Club Professional at Mount Pleasant GC.

In December 2005 Mike relocated to Spain with his family and took up the position as Director of Golf at Miraflores Golf Academy. He is also a partner in the successful Sunshine Golf holiday company. Mike has been teaching and playing golf as a professional for nearly 25 years and has coached players of all levels from complete beginners to touring professionals and everyone in between.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Miraflores Golf Academy features 12 bays in its lower level plus 8 bays on the upper tier, a short game practice area (with practice bunker, chipping area and 9 hole putting green) and full floodlighting for evening practice. Five of the bays downstairs are PowerTee automatic golf tees. These mats are great fun to use and help take the strain out of practice.

The upper tier is the Professional Teaching Area. The Teaching Team consists of two PGA professionals and an EGTF "Master Teacher" who are available on-site daily. As well as the 8 teaching bays upstairs the Teaching Team has a video analysis studio where the V1 system of swing analysis is used as well as the Explanar system. Most of the tuition for the courses will take place in this more secluded upper level. Opening Hours: 09.30 to 22.00 daily

Also available on-site is the Miraflores Beauty & Massage Therapy Centre as well as Bunkers Bar & Bistro – so after a hard days golf you can have a relaxing massage followed by a drink and a bite to eat!

Nearby is Miraflores Golf Course with its excellent clubhouse and restaurant facilities – open to all guests and members using the Miraflores centres. Both the Academy and the Golf Course hold special entertainment evenings (Quiz Nights, Singers and Bands etc) which are well publicized in each venue.

The Golf Academy is exit km198 (signposted: Riviera Del Sol) off the A7/N340. As you come of the main road and get to the roundabout you take the road up the hill (past Opencor on the corner). At the very top off this road is a crossroads, turn left and you will see the Golf Academy on your left hand side. The entrance is on the left as you go down the hill. The entrance to the golf course is further along this road on the right.

LA NORIA COURSE, MIJAS COSTA DAY 5

On successfully completing the four days tuition at the Miraflores Academy, we have arranged a half round of golf on the beautiful La Noria course for the fifth day of this holiday. This will be an accompanied 9 holes with your pro. The green fee for this 9 holes along with club and trolley hire is also included.

You will be expected to dress accordingly (Mike will guide you on this – but also see the note below). As a special dispensation – for BEGINNERS GROUP ONLY & on this 9 holes you will be permitted to wear SMART TRAINERS

*Note – if circumstances require a change to the alternative choice of La Siesta golf course you will be notified by Mike prior to final days play.

La Noria - La Cala de Mijas

La Noria is a 9 hole, par 33 course, situated at La Cala de Mijas, within walking distance of the village. The course is mainly flat although one hole has a bit of a climb. It is suitable for beginners and more experienced golfers, with a par 5, 4 par 4 holes and the rest are par 3, it is extremely challenging with three lakes plus, small river which runs through the course coming into play on almost every hole.
