ABOUT YOUR PAINTING HOLIDAY

Our painting week is for painters of all levels to come and thoroughly enjoy their time in the relaxed village atmosphere of Mijas and Ojen. This is not a highly structured course covering specific topics because aims vary so much from one artist to another.

Painters will always be encouraged to use the medium of their choice and tuition will be given on the basic principles such as tone, colour and composition.

Mijas and Ojen are both thriving artists’ colonies and provide wonderful opportunities for visiting artists to view local studios.

The programme includes painting and sketching in both picturesque white villages of MIJAS and OJEN together with a countryside drive for sketching opportunities, free time in Marbella and a visit to its renowned Engraving Museum.

This is a two centre holiday with time in the white villages Mijas and Ojen just inland from the Costa del Sol. The first 4 nights are spent at the very comfortable 4* Hotel Mijas in the centre of the village. This traditional Andalucian style hotel is low rise and features charming patios, lounges, cocktail bar and outdoor swimming pool. Buffet breakfast and dinner are taken in the delightful dining room.

The rooms are either standard twins with balcony or for a supplement superior twins which have a sea view. All rooms are en-suite, with satellite TV and telephone. Its location is stunning, with panoramic views across the countryside down to the Mediterranean.

The following 3 nights are spent at either the delightful 3*POSADA DEL ANGEL in the centre of OJEN or the keener priced HOSTERIA DON JOSE, which is a 500 meter uphill walk outside the village. The accommodation in OJEN is on a bed and breakfast basis.

As with our PHOTOGRAPHY HOLIDAY, if you are travelling alone then please don’t hesitate in joining this trip. We plan small groups with a maximum of 8 persons on each departure. This way our tutor gets to know the group who in turn get to know each other.

Travelling alone? If you wish to avoid the single supplement and don’t mind sharing with a member of the same sex then we will be very happy to put you in touch with another group member of the same mind. If, however, this is not possible, then we will have to charge the single room supplement.

Non participating partners – travelling with a friend who is not taking part in the week’s tuition? In this case we can offer a reduction of 150€ off the cost of the holiday for that person. They will receive no tuition but are welcome to join the outings etc.
