YOUR TUTOR JEREMY LENNON
Much of his youth was spent in the English Lake District, where he received some early tuition from the late William Heaton Cooper. Subsequent training was mostly in artists’ studios apart from a period of study at the Slade School of Fine Art, London University. At 24 he moved to the Mediterranean shores and of his new surroundings now says - ‘ the light, colour and way of life are a great source of inspiration. To try to interpret one’s surroundings in a personal way through paint is very rewarding’ He has a very busy productive working life which includes solo and group exhibitions in Spain and England. He also teaches at home and at Pear Tree Farm in Derbyshire
YOUR TUTOR’S APPROACHJeremy’s philosophy is that if painting is made too easy then it can become boring. Regard him as your coach and the guidance you receive will serve you over the months and years to come. Don’t be afraid to experiment - dip a brush into pigment and apply it to a surface, any surface. All children know this but sometimes as adults we forget the pleasure of mark making! Remember there is no substitute for trial and error. |
